Star Trek: Voyager is the property of Paramount. No copyright infringement is intended. This may be the single worst story I have ever written. Fair warning. Home By Kelly Weingart Home She stood still and unmoving, head tilted back, eyes closed, listening to the quiet sounds of the night, almost able to feel the starlight on her skin. It was exhilarating and familiar and peaceful and just what she'd come to expect. She heard footsteps approach from behind and turned, a smile on her face, to meet the new arrival. "Are you ready?" he asked. "Yes. Just - saying goodbye." She didn't explain and didn't need to. He understood. "Next stop: Earth. Finally." "I can't wait," he said, wrapping his arms around her. "I finally get to show you guys the real Sandrine's." "Is Harry coming?" "Mmm-hmm. He and Libby spoke for hours but things seem to be settled between them, So Harry and Miranda are coming with us. And Kes and Neelix.." "And I was afraid we'd all lose touch with each other once we got back to the Alpha Quadrant." B'Elanna laughed. "Now it seems we can't get rid of each other." "Why would you want too?" Tom asked. "Sure we're the most dysfunctional family in the galaxy, but you've gotta admit we've got style." He smiled down at her. "Tuvok's gonna try and stop by, too. And he promised to bring his wife. I can't wait to meet her. Anyone ho can put up with him day in and day out-" "Tom!" "Sorry." He grinned at her unrepentantly. "You're horrible," she reproved. "What about the others? Captain Janeway and Chakotay?" "I think they're going to be a little busy," Tom said with a knowing grin. "But the Captain said they'd try to be there." "And you?" B'Elanna met his confused look. "Did Starfleet approve your field commission?" "For now," Tom replied. "I'm on probation though. One mistake and it's back to New Zealand. Still, it's better than I expected." "Worse than you deserve," B'Elanna argued. "Let's not get started on that again," Tom said. "I'm too happy to get into a fight." "When does the ship leave?" B'Elanna asked changing the subject. "Twenty-two hundred. But I doubt they'd leave without us." He gave her that wry grin that was practically a trademark. "We survive six years in the Delta Quadrant just to get left behind once we finally get home. That'd be just our luck." "You mean, that'd be just *your* luck," B'Elanna teased. "I'm just some poor, innocent bystander who keeps getting into trouble because of you." Tom pulled back and gave her an appraising look. "Poor? No. Innocent? Never. Bystander?" He leered at her suggestively. "I hope not." B'Elanna grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the arboretum's exit. "We'd better go check out our quarters on the Excalibur." "Definitely," Tom agreed. He followed her to the transporter room, but stopped just before stepping onto the platform. "Let me do this, okay?" he asked the technician on duty. He took the woman's place behind the console and set the transporter controls to beam them to the Excalibur. He smiled at B'Elanna as he joined her on the transporter platform. He took her hand. "Goodbye, Voyager," he said as the transporter beam took them.
