One thousand years ago, supersticion and the sword ruled. It was a time of darkness. It was a world of fear. It was the age of gargoyles! Stone by day, warriors by night, we were betrayed by the humans we had sworn to protect, frozen in stone by a magical spell for a thousand years. Now, here in Manhattan, the spell is lifted, and we live again! We are defenders of the night! We are gargoyles!
I first saw gargoyles when the episode 'Ransom' aired. I was immediately addicted. Since then, having seen most of the first two seasons and all of the third, I can honestly say that despite being a cartoon, this is one of the most mature and canonical shows on American television. There is an attention to detail that you don't usually see for half-hour shows.
I began writing fanfic just a few weeks later, once I'd gotten a grasp of the characters and background story. Now I have several finished stories and several more progress. And so, I decided to force them on the unsuspecting public. :)
